Holi is a Hindu Spring Festival in India. It signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of Spring, the end of Winter and for a chance to meet others, play and laugh, forgive and forget, repair broken relationships and a thanksgiving for a good harvest. It lasts for two days but being in another country we can only meet at the bonfire. But this year for the first time the GCS will be holding the Holi Bonfire on Sunday 12th March 2017 and the Rangwali Holi on Sunday 19th March 2017 from 1pm weather permitting. Free but donations of snack foods and drinks (warm) welcome at both events or please own. Please let a contact for GCS know by 5th March 2017 if coming to one or both events for catering purposes. In the colour festival, bags of colour will be available for a small charge.
